Little Rock is the capital of Arkansas and the most populous city in the state, with almost 200,000 residents and a sprawling metropolitan area. It is a cultural, business and educational center in the South. Motorcycle insurance rates for the sample policy and rider in LIttler Rock were 13.9% higher thna the state average.

Fort Smith, AR

In western Arkansas on the border of Oklahoma is Fort Smith, which is home to roughly 87,000 residents. It is well known as a western frontier military post and is the location of the new United States Marshals Service National Museum. Fayetteville, AR

The third-largest city in Arkansas has about 73,000 residents and is home to the University of Arkansas, which was founded in 1871. Magnolia, AR

The place in Arkansas with the most expensive motorcycle insurance rates was Magnolia, a city of about 12,000 residents near the southern border of the state. It is home to the World Championship Steak Cook Off and for its annual Magnolia Blossom Festival. The place with the least affordable motorcycle insurance rates is also home to Southern Arkansas University. Quotes for our sample policy were 23.7% higher than the state average.

Maumelle, AR

Located in Pulaski County in central Arkansas, Maumelle is a city of roughly 17,000 residents. It’s part of the LIttle Rock metropolitan area and on the opposite bank of the Arkansas River. The community has a “hometown feeling,” according to its website, and some of the most expensive motorcycle rates in Arkansas. Quotes for our sample rider and policy were 23.6% higher than the state average.

Sherwood, AR

Sherwood is north of North Little Rock and the Arkansas River. It has 30,000 residents and became a city of First Class in 1971. A number of large companies are headquartered in the city, including ANC Financial and The Heritage Company. Motorcycle insurance rates in Sherwood were 21.1% higher than the state average.

North Little Rock, AR

The city of North Little Rock is just across the Arkansas River from Little Rock, the capital and the populous city in the state. North Little Rock has its own downtown historic district known as Argenta. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the Arkansas River Trail and the 450-acre Two Rivers Park in the city, as well. Motorcycle insurance premiums quote for our sample policy were 20% higher than the state average.

West Memphis, AR

Across the Mississippi River from Memphis Tennessee is West Memphis, a city of about 26,000 in Arkansas. Study Methodology

Our study analyzed motorcycle insurance quotes for a sample policy and rider across 41 municipalities and census-designated places in the state of Arkansas. The quotes we gathered were from four major carriers: Progressive, Nationwide, GEICO and Dairyland. The rider we gathered quotes from was a 45-year-old male who was married and had completed a motorcycle training course. He also had a clean driving record. The policy itself included bodily injury protection $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident and $50,000 in property damage coverage. The deductibles for both Comprehensive and Collision coverage were $500.

The motorcycle used when gather quotes was a Harley Davidson Street Glide (1690cc) with no anti-theft device installed.
