Poor Reviews on Customer Service

GAINSCO has one of the highest complaint index numbers compared to the other auto insurance companies we've reviewed. Most of the complaints insured policyholders have logged with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners were around claims handling and delays in claims resolution. Some customers have mentioned in their reviews that it is difficult getting company representatives or agents on the phone when the going gets tough, and that payouts and resolutions of their claims took longer than expected.

For these reasons, we recommend consumers research and consider other insurers instead. For those drivers interested in purchasing their auto insurance through an agent, Allstate has stood out as one of the best companies we've reviewed. Otherwise, if agents aren't a criteria, and consumers just want affordable car insurance, then type in your zip code below to find cheap auto insurers in your area.

GAINSCO Auto Insurance Policy & Coverage

GAINSCO Insurance, together with its affiliate MGA Insurance Company, offers car insurance policy known as "minimum-limits personal auto insurance." These kinds of policy coverage fulfill the minimum limits of mandatory auto insurance liability coverage mandated by states. Full and standard coverage choices are available as well, but the company specializes in minimum limit policies. Its policies are sold through a network of independent agents in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. Their claims and customer service teams are bilingual in both English and Spanish.

GAINSCO's website is limited in functionality. To obtain a quote for auto insurance from GAINSCO, prospective customers will have to first locate an agent near them by calling (866) GAINSCO. The website doesn't accept electronic payments either. No quotes are available on GAINSCO's website, unfortunately.
