Auto Insurance Policy
Poor Reviews, Poor Ratings
We've reviewed numerous auto insurers, and this is the first we've come across that received an "F" letter grade from the Better Business Bureau. It has four times the number of complaints overall compared to the median car insurance company. Of the complaints logged against Countrywide Insurance in 2013, the majority were due to dissatisfaction with delays in claims processing. Customers alleged that Countrywide Insurance did not follow up in a timely manner on phone calls, failed to move the settlement process along, and were disorganized or uncoordinated with paperwork and billing hiccups.
Furthermore, most insurers maintain a financial creditworthiness rating of B or above at AM Best, but Countrywide is the first we've seen to be graded C+. This indicates that the company's ability to meet ongoing insurance policy and contract obligations is "marginal" - which makes us concerned that Countrywide might be unable to pay out all of its claims from policyholders. Surprisingly, however, the outlook for the company is "Stable".
Consumers still considering a quote from Countrywide should obtain a few other quotes from national providers so that they can compare and get the best prices and coverage for themselves.

There is very little information on the company's website about the products and services Countrywide Insurance sells. The website does little to educate prospective customers, but does list the telephone contact information and offer a payment portal.
