Earn $750 in bonus cash back

The first thing we want to highlight is the elevated welcome offer for the Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card. For a cashback card without an annual fee, it’s truly excellent.

You can Earn $750 bonus cash back after you spend $7,500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

This is a fairly high spending requirement, but it is also more than the welcome offer you can find on similar cards. For example, the Capital One Spark Cash Select - $500 Cash Bonus card also earns 1.5% Cash Back on every purchase, but it lets you Earn a $500 Cash Back once you spend $4,500 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening. Another option is the American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card that also earns a flat rate of cash back, but doesn’t come with a welcome offer.

What it's worth: $750 in cash back

Who's eligible to earn this offer? There don't appear to be any restrictions on the offer, other than your account being open and not in default at the time of fulfillment and whether your purchases qualify. The card is also subject to the unwritten Chase 5/24 rule.

Earn 1.5% on every purchase

Unlike the other Chase Ink Business cards that offer bonus cash back or points in specific spending categories, the Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card allows you to Earn unlimited 1.5% cash back on every purchase made for your business.

There’s no need to keep track of category bonuses or make sure you’re using the correct business card to maximize your rewards — the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card allows you to earn the same on all business purchases.

Compared to other business cards, though, the Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card lags behind the competition when it comes to the overall value in rewards per $1 spent. Based on typical consumer spending, here are the average rewards earned per $1 spent — you'll see the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card second-to-last on the list. However, there are reasons why you may want to consider it, especially if you have other Ultimate Rewards-earning credit cards in your wallet.

What are Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card points worth?

The rewards earned by the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card are worth 1 cent per point when redeemed for cash back or in most other ways through Chase Ultimate Rewards. However, if you have other Chase cards that earn Ultimate Rewards points, you can transfer points to card accounts that offer access to hotel and airline transfer partners (the Chase Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card, for example). For these card types, we consider Ultimate Rewards points to be worth 2.0 cents each on average.

You can take your rewards to the next level if you have a Chase card that allows you to transfer your Ultimate Rewards points to travel partners, such as the Chase Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card.

On the personal side, if you have either the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or Chase Sapphire Reserve®, you can also access this feature of the Ultimate Rewards program. Points earned from your Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card can become more valuable if you transfer them to a rewards account associated with any of these cards.

Transferring points between Chase cards

With any of the three Chase cards listed below, your Ultimate Rewards points are worth more when redeeming for travel through Chase Travel. You can also transfer them to travel partners at a 1:1 ratio. Transferring points allows you to get the "full" value from Ultimate Rewards points earned through no-annual-fee cards like the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card.

ValuePenguin estimates that Ultimate Rewards are worth an average of 2.0 cents each with these card types rather than the 1.0 cent each as cash back.

Other Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card benefits

Beyond earning 1.5X Ultimate Rewards points on every purchase, the Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card comes with a variety of other perks. Here we break down the basics for you regarding each of the card's perks.

One of the best travel benefits offered by the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card is the auto rental collision damage waiver. When you rent a vehicle for business purposes using your card, declining rental agency collision insurance will allow this card benefit to kick in.

The collision coverage is primary for business rentals, which means that you don’t need to file a claim with another source of insurance before you can receive this benefit. The auto rental collision damage waiver provides the following:

  • Coverage of the cardholder and any additional drivers listed on the rental agreement, as long as the cardholder (whose name is embossed on the card) is listed as the primary renter.
  • Reimbursement for physical damage and/or theft of covered rental vehicle up to the actual cash value of the rental car
  • Coverage of reasonable and customary towing charges related to a covered loss to take the vehicle to the nearest qualified repair facility
  • Coverage of valid loss-of-use charges incurred by the rental car agency

Coverage is only valid for rentals of 31 consecutive days or fewer. Coverage does not include liability insurance for automobile passengers or damage to other vehicles or property.

The Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card offers a very select subset of the typical Visa Signature travel insurance benefits. The perks offered include:

  • Travel and Emergency Assistance Services
  • Roadside Dispatch®

If you run into trouble while traveling, you can call your card benefits administrator to access a variety of travel and emergency assistance services, which includes legal or medical referrals. The cost of any services procured through this service will be the cardholder's responsibility. To use Travel and Emergency Assistance services, call 800-992-6029.

You also have access to the Roadside Dispatch® service, which provides a variety of services for a set price. Services include:

  • Tire changing
  • Towing (up to 5 miles included)
  • Jumpstarting
  • Lockout service
  • Fuel delivery (cost of fuel is in addition to services)

Rates are pre-negotiated and will be billed to your card. To use Roadside Dispatch®, call 800-847-2869.

Unlike the Chase Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card or the personal Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, the Ink Unlimited does not offer trip delay, trip cancellation or lost or delayed luggage insurance.

The Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card offers a 0% Intro APR on Purchases for 12 months. This means you can enjoy your purchases interest-free for the entire first year, if needed. After the first 12 months the card carries an APR of 13.24% - 19.24% Variable.

New retail purchases made using your Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card are covered for 120 days against damage or theft up to $10,000 per claim and $50,000 per account. Some items (including boats, automobiles, used items, antiques and computer software) and situations (such as unexplained loss) will not be covered. You'll need to consult the guide to benefits for the full terms and conditions.

The extended warranty protection offered as a Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card benefit will extend a manufacturer's warranty by one additional year for warranties of three years or less. Coverage is limited to the original purchase price of the item. Items must have a valid manufacturer-written warranty to be eligible and you must have an itemized sales receipt. Coverage can be up to $10,000 per claim, up to $50,000 per account.

Some types of items are excluded from coverage, so you'll need to consult the guide to benefits for the full terms and conditions.

The lack of an annual fee is one of the best selling features of the card, allowing you to earn rich rewards without having to worry about whether you're getting enough value for your money.

You can earn even more Ultimate Rewards points by providing your employees as authorized users on your Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card account. You can set individual spending limits for your employees, and rewards earned from employee purchases will be added to your Ultimate Rewards account. The best part is that there is no cost for additional employee cards.

How does the Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card compare to other cards?

The Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card might already sound like a winner, but any analysis would be deficient without comparing the card with others in its cohort. Here's how the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card stacks up against some common competition.

Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card vs. Capital One Spark Cash Select - $500 Cash Bonus

  • On Capital One's Secure Website

At face value, the Capital One Spark Cash Select - $500 Cash Bonus seems like an equal card when compared to the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card. It also lets you earn 1.5% Cash Back on every purchase and doesn’t carry an annual fee. However, it only offers a $500 Cash Back once you spend $4,500 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening. This isn’t nearly as generous as the sign-up bonus on the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card, though the spend for the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card bonus is notably higher.

And if your company already has the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card, then the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card’s rewards rate effectively increases to 3% (1.5% cash back multiplied by 2 cents per point) — twice as much as that of the Capital One Spark Cash Select - $500 Cash Bonus.

Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card vs. Chase Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card

  • On Chase's Secure Website

The Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card is worth getting if your company spends substantially on travel, shipping purchases, internet, advertising, or cable and phone services. This is because the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card allows you to Earn 3 points per $1 on the first $150,000 spent in combined purchases on travel, shipping purchases, Internet, cable and phone services, advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines each account anniversary year. Earn 1 point per $1 on all other purchases—with no limit to the amount you can earn..

The card's rate on regular purchases is far lower than the constant 1.5 points per $1 earned by the Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card. However, with the Ink Preferred, your Ultimate Rewards points are worth at least 1.25 cents each when redeemed for travel through Chase Travel. You can also Earn 100,000 bonus points after you spend $15,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. that's $1,000 cash back or $1,250 towards travel rewards when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards®. How We Calculate Rewards: ValuePenguin calculates the value of rewards by estimating the dollar value of any points, miles or bonuses earned using the card less any associated annual fees. These estimates here are ValuePenguin's alone, not those of the card issuer, and have not been reviewed, approved or otherwise endorsed by the credit card issuer.

Example of how we calculate the rewards rates: When redeemed for travel through Ultimate Rewards, Chase Sapphire Preferred points are worth $0.0125 each. The card awards 2 points on travel and dining and 1 point on everything else. Therefore, we say the card has a 2.5% rewards rate on dining and travel (2 x $0.0125) and a 1.25% rewards rate on everything else (1 x $0.0125).
