The New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card is an excellent choice for businesses that want a no-annual-fee cash back credit card. This card is also part of the Chase Ultimate Rewards family of cards, giving it the ability to function as an excellent points card when paired with the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card.

Review: Our Thoughts on the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card

The New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card's uncapped 1.5% cash back rate on all purchases puts it with the Capital One® Spark® Cash Select for Business, as one of the best no-annual-fee flat-rate cash back business credit cards. There may be other cards that have the potential to offer more value for businesses that have spending that is concentrated to a few select categories, such as the SimplyCash® Plus Business Credit Card from American Express which offers 5% cash back on the first $50,000 spent on wireless telephone services purchased directly from U.S. service providers and U.S. office supply stores. However, businesses whose spending doesn't fall into these categories will likely get better value with the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card.

While the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card is perfectly fine on its own, it really shines when it is paired with other cards that earn Chase Ultimate Rewards (UR), such as the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card. Businesses with both of these cards can pool the points earned with the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card into their Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card account, where they will increase in value by 25% when redeemed for travel. This effectively increases this card's rewards rate from 1.5% to 1.875%, making it the best flat-rate cash back business card with no annual fee.

In terms of short-term rewards, the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card's $500 introductory spending bonus—for making $3,000 in purchases within the first three months of account opening—is one of the best we've seen for a card with no annual fee. Furthermore, if this card is paired with the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card, as we discussed previously, this bonus could be potentially worth $625 when redeemed for travel.

Bottom Line: The New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card is one of the best cash back cards available for businesses that spend under $19,000 per year or already have the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card. For spending over $19,000, we recommend the Capital One® Spark® Cash for Business.

Benefits and Features

The New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card lets businesses earn 1.5% cash back on all purchases. This card differs from many of its competitors by making these rewards earnings unlimited, as opposed to capping them at a certain amount of spending per year.

Businesses with the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card can earn an additional $500 cash back bonus if they make at least $3,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. This is one of the highest bonuses we've seen on a business card with no annual fee. It's worth noting that balance transfers, interest and fees do not count toward this $3,000 spending requirement.

Redeeming Rewards

Cash back rewards actually come in the form of Chase Ultimate Rewards points, which can be redeemed for cash back at a rate of 1 cent per point. However, if you happen to have the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card, you can pool your points under that account, where they will be worth 25% more when redeemed for travel through the Ultimate Rewards portal. This changes this card’s effective rewards rate from 1.5% to 1.875%.

Other Benefits

The New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card allows businesses to add employees’ cards at no additional cost. Furthermore, it also allows credit card account managers the ability to set spending limits for employee cards. This functionality can be incredibly useful for businesses managing and tracking lots of employee expenditures.

How Does the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card Compare to Other Credit Cards?

When shopping for credit cards, it's important to consider a wide variety of options. That way, you have a better sense of how valuable a card is. Below, we've compared the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card to some the top business credit cards available.

New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card vs Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card

The Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card is worth getting if your company spends more than $4,225 per year in travel, shipping purchases, internet, advertising, and cable and phone services. On these purchases, the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card earns three Chase Ultimate Reward (UR) points per $1 spend, which are worth 1.25 cents each when redeemed for travel through the UR travel portal.

Businesses can get excellent value by getting both the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card and the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card. With both cards, businesses will have the ability to pool points earned with the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card into your Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card UR account, where they will be worth 25% more when redeemed for travel. This increases the rewards rate of the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card from 1.5% to 1.875%.

Highlights:

  • Earn 3 points per dollar spent on the first $150,000 in combined purchases in travel shipping purchases, internet, cable, phone services and advertising with social media site and search engines.
  • Earn 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases.
  • Annual fee of $95.

New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card vs Capital One® Spark® Cash Select for Business

While the Capital One® Spark® Cash Select for Business is also a no-annual fee 1.5% cash back card, the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card will be the better choice for your business. This is because its bonus is $300 more than the Capital One® Spark® Cash Select for Business's $200 bonus for the same amount of spending. Also, if your company already has the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card, then the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card's rewards rate will effectively increase to 1.875% (as we mentioned above)—25% greater than that of the Capital One® Spark® Cash Select for Business.

Highlights:

New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card vs Capital One® Spark® Cash for Business

Businesses that spend over $19,000 per year will get a better value with the Capital One® Spark® Cash for Business than they would with the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card. If your business is able to spend this much, then the increased rewards—of 2% unlimited cash back on all purchases—makes up for this card’s annual fee of $95 (waived for the first year). The only downside with the Capital One® Spark® Cash for Business is that it doesn't have any synergy with other Capital One credit cards. Therefore, you will be forever capped at a 2% rewards rate. For some business owners, that will be enough. However, if you're an optimizer who wants to collect points and redeem them for flights or hotels, you should get the New! Ink Business Unlimited℠ Credit Card and pair it with the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card.

Highlights:

  • Unlimited 2% cash back on all purchases.
  • Earn a $500 cash back bonus after making $4,500 in purchases within 3 months of account opening.
  • Annual fee of $95, waived or the first year.
