If you run any sort of business, however small, and frequently stay at Hilton properties, this is a great credit card option.

Review: Is the American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card a Good Option?
The American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card is the only business credit card offered by Hilton. Even though the card fills a niche, the benefits that come with it are anything but average. Cardmembers can get benefits like complimentary gold status and lots of ways to earn Hilton points. All these make the card's $95 annual fee a relatively small investment.
|Business owners who want to earn free stays with Hilton hotels.||Those who are after rewards with greater flexibility.|
|Companies spending over $15,000 per year.|
You shouldn't get the American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card if you're not particularly loyal to the Hilton brand. There are several good business credit cards that provide much more flexibility in terms of how you can use your points. The rewards you earn through the American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card can only ever be used to book future stays with Hilton. With a card like the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card, for example, you can book flights and hotel stays across multiple brands—even Airbnb. If that kind of freedom is important to you, don't apply for the Hilton business credit card.
Bottom Line: The American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card is a good option for business owners who frequently stay, or have employees who stay, with Hilton. If you're after a more versatile credit card, consider other options.
American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card Benefits & Features
The major benefit of getting the American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card is the ability to earn free nights at the affiliated hotels. The primary way this is achieved is by earning extra points with each purchase. Once you accumulate enough Hilton Honors points, you can use them to book stays. The American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card gives you 6 points per dollar spent at US gas stations, wireless telephone services purchased directly from US service producers and US purchases for shipping. You also receive 6 points per dollar spent at US restaurants, flights booked directly with airlines or amextravel.com, and car rentals booked directly from select car rental companies.

The card is most rewarding when used at Hilton hotels. Each dollar spent at Hilton properties gets you 12 points per dollar spent. The American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card also awards automatic Gold status, which boosts the number of base points you earn by 25%.
Another benefit that comes with the American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card is the free weekend night. You can qualify so long as your business charges at least $15,000 in purchases to your card each calendar year. Any year you spend at least $45,000 you get a second weekend night. Each night is worth, on average, around $143—more than covering for this card's $95 annual fee.
Complimentary Gold Status
As mentioned previously, the American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card awards Gold status with Hilton to all cardmembers. Normally, you would need to have 30 stays, 60 qualifying nights, or earn 120,000 base points to get this benefit. The benefits of Gold status include:
- A 25-percent boost to Honors base points earned.
- Every standard-rate fifth night free on stays of five nights or more.
- Late checkout.
- Digital check-in.
American Express OPEN Benefits
All American Express OPEN cards, including the American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card, share a set of benefits. These are designed for small businesses to help them save even more money and to make small quality of life improvements. However, these benefits are not unique. There are a dozen OPEN cards.
The most noteworthy perk is the discount available through select partners. You can get 5% off or 2 Membership Rewards points per dollar spent on purchases with FedEx, Hertz, HP and 1-800 Flowers. If your company has a significant level of spending with these vendors, an Amex OPEN card can lead to significant savings.
OPEN also gives you access to a suite of apps to manage corporate spending. You can automatically send transactions to QuickBooks, or monitor and manage employee spending via the Spend Manager mobile app.

American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card vs The Business Gold Rewards Card from American Express OPEN
The Business Gold Rewards Card from American Express OPEN is better suited for businesses that don't want all their rewards tied up with a single brand. The card awards 3 points per dollar spent on a category you choose:
- Airfare purchased directly from airlines.
- US purchases for advertising in select media.
- US purchases at gas stations.
- US purchases for shipping.
- US computer hardware, software, and cloud computing purchases made directly from select providers.
The other four remaining categories award 2 points per dollar spent. All rewards are capped on the first $100,000 in purchases in each of the five categories per year. All other purchases, including those in different categories, award just 1 point per dollar spent. All these points can be transferred to one of 20 airline and hotel loyalty programs, including Hilton Honors. You need just 1 Membership Rewards point to get 1.5 Hilton points. You can read more about Membership Rewards in our comprehensive guide.
Unlike the American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card, The Business Gold Rewards Card from American Express OPEN is a charge card, not a credit card. That means you're expected to completely pay your bill at the end of each month. You cannot carry a balance, unless you sign up for a special payment plan. This can be bad for businesses with irregular cash flows that sometimes need the flexibility that only a credit card can afford.
- Between 1 and 3 Membership Rewards points per dollar spent.
- $0 introductory annual fee for the first year, then $175
- 50,000 Membership Rewards points after you spend $5,000 in purchases on the card within your first three months of card membership.

American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card vs Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card
The Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card is another business card that is better for small business owners who value flexibility above all else. This card isn't affiliated with Hilton Hotels. Instead, the points you earn can be used to book travel through Chase's Ultimate Rewards portal, or transferred to different airline and hotel programs at a 1:1 ratio. The programs include:
- British Airways
- Air France KLM
- Korean Air
- Singapore Airlines
- Southwest Airlines
- Virgin Atlantic
If you have no particular loyalty to the Hilton brand, we recommend getting the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card instead of the American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card. The Chase card is currently one of the best options for small business owners. It has a fantastic welcome bonus, good rewards on day-to-day purchases and a relatively low annual fee. Like the American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card, the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card charges $95 per year.
- 3 points per $1 spent on the first $150,000 spent in combined purchases on travel, shipping purchases, Internet, cable and phone services, and on advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines each account anniversary year.
- 80,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first three months after account opening.
- No foreign transaction fees.

American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card vs Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card
Some business owners may prefer the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, especially if they stay with Hilton hotels multiple times throughout the year. However, the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card is not a business credit card. As such, it doesn't come with any of the OPEN benefits, like employee spend managements and QuickBook exports. However, if you're running a small shop or are a sole proprietor of a business, the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card may yet prove useful.
The card has a $450 annual fee, but comes with a valuable set of benefits that more than make up for this high price tag. Cardmembers get up to $500 in annual travel credit, up to two free weekend nights, and complimentary Diamond status with Hilton. If the card is used to its fullest potential, can use the rewards to make the $450 fee worthwhile.
- One weekend night reward at a hotel or resort in the Hilton portfolio with your new card and each year of card membership.
- Complimentary Hilton Honors Diamond status.
- $250 Airline incidental fee statement credit; $250 Hilton resort statement credit.
