Review: Is The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card a good option?
Although The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card is the only business credit card offered by Hilton, its features might be anything but average. Cardmembers enjoy benefits such as complimentary Hilton Honors Gold status, offering lots of ways to earn Hilton points. These features could make the card's $95 annual fee a relatively small investment.
Hilton Honors guides
The rewards you earn through The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card can only be used to book future stays with Hilton through its Hilton Honors loyalty program. If, however, you’re not particularly loyal to the Hilton brand, you may not want to get The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card. Instead, there are many other business cards that can provide much more flexibility with your points: The Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card, for example, lets you redeem your rewards for flights and hotel stays across multiple brands — even Airbnb.
Bottom line: The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card is a superb option for business owners who frequently stay (or have employees who stay) with Hilton. If you’re after a more versatile credit card, consider other options.

How does The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card compare to other credit cards?
Here’s how The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card compares to similar business credit cards.
The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card vs. American Express® Business Gold Card
The American Express® Business Gold Card is suited for businesses that don't want all their rewards tied up to one brand, earning Membership Rewards points that can transfer to many travel partners — Hilton included. With this card, you’ll Get 4X Membership Rewards® points on the 2 select categories where your business spent the most each month*. Then earn 1 point per dollar. However, the elevated earnings rate is limited to the first $150,000 in combined purchases from these two categories each calendar year.
The categories include:
- Airfare purchased directly from airlines
- U.S. purchases for advertising in select media (online, TV, radio)
- U.S. purchases made directly from select technology providers of computer hardware, software and cloud solutions
- U.S. purchases at gas stations
- U.S. purchases at restaurants
- U.S. purchases for shipping
This card comes with a $295 annual fee, but allows for much more flexibility with your travel rewards. Note, however, that you won’t get any Hilton Honors loyalty benefits with the American Express® Business Gold Card — so if those perks matter to you, apply for The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card.

The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card vs. Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card
The Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card by Chase is another business card that’s better for small business owners who value flexibility above all else. This card earns points through the Chase Ultimate Rewards program, with transfer airline and hotel partners at a 1:1 ratio.
Keep in mind that Hilton is not a transfer partner in the Ultimate Rewards program. However, you can book any travel through the Ultimate Rewards portal and get a 25% redemption bonus for an elevated value of your points.
If you have no particular loyalty to the Hilton brand, we recommend getting the Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card instead of The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card. You’ll Earn 3 points per $1 on the first $150,000 spent in combined purchases on travel, shipping purchases, Internet, cable and phone services, advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines each account anniversary year. Earn 1 point per $1 on all other purchases—with no limit to the amount you can earn. Above all, we like this earnings rate, as it covers a wide breadth of purchase categories.

Cardholders earn up to $500 in yearly travel statement credits, up to two free weekend nights each year and complimentary Diamond Status.
Because the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card is a personal credit card, it does not come with the typical business-friendly features. However, smaller shop owners and sole proprietors who are Hilton loyalists may prefer to apply for this card instead.
